Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Audrey June Kennedy, 85, of Shelby (formerly of Hesperia) went home to the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Audrey was born on June 28, 1930, to Garth and Gladys Fairchild. On July 24, 1948 she married Neil Kennedy and together they raised three children. She was employed by Howmet Castings in Whitehall, MI for several years. Audrey had both a talent and love for creating beautiful flower gardens at her home. She passed on her love of gardening to several members of her family. Audrey had also been a longtime member of the Hesperia Presbyterian Church. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Neil and two sons Dale and Joe. She is survived by her loving daughter Sandy (Tom) Hiddema; daughters-in-law, Judy (Roger) Herin, Barb Kennedy, and Carole (Terry Brady) Kennedy; grandchildren, Melissa (Dwight) Fuehring, Jason (Kathleen) Kennedy, Jennifer (Rich) Copenhaver, Mark (Mary) Hiddema, Jeff (Lynn) Hiddema, Chad (Sally) Kennedy, Lisa Andritsis, Michael Scheffler, and Mark Scheffler. Also surviving are eleven great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Denhof; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister Donna Brown; and brothers-in-law, Robert Brown, Leon Miller, Paul Miller, and Joe Kennedy. Visitation for Audrey will be on Monday, June 6, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. Funeral Services for Audrey will be on Tuesday, June 7th, 11 a.m. at the Hesperia Presbyterian Church. For a more lasting memorial, contributions may be given to Harbor Hospice.
