June G. Sonoras, age 77 of Newaygo, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Transitional Heath Services in Fremont. June was born on May 2, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to Roland and Julia (Schultz) Lakoski and has been a longtime resident of the area. June had worked at Sandmold Systems in Newaygo for many years in the accounting department until her retirement. June had also been a volunteer at the Department of Human Services in White Cloud. June is survived by her children, Linda Sonoras of Grant; James (Mary Ellen) Sonoras of Monroe, Michigan; Carol (David) Anderson of Newaygo, and John (Cindy) Sonoras of Monroe, Michigan; her grandchildren, Angela June Sonoras (Fiance Aaron Parker); April Marie (Michael) Thomas; Joseph James Sonoras; Joel Sonoras; Kelsey Cornell; Jason Anderson; 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Melissa Sonoras-Lawson and her brother, Roland Lakoski. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday June 11, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Fremont Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 10 E. Elm, Fremont, MI, with lunch immediately following in the church hall.
