Westbrook, June G. June G. Westbrook, age 85 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday morning, May 9, 2006 at her home following a short illness. June was born on October 19, 1920 in Douglas, Michigan to John and Grace (Vanos) Derks and moved to the Fremont area from Douglas, Michigan near the age of 9 and graduated from Fremont High School. She later met and married Forrest V. Westbrook on December 31, 1946 and Forrest preceded her in death in October 17, 2002. June had worked at the Gerber Products Company and later at the Homestead Real Estate Company until her retirement on October 31, 1987. June was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church; member of the Fremont Women of the Moose; Fremont VFW Womens Auxiallry; had been a volunteer at Gerber Memorial Hospital; was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and Rebekahs; enjoyed reading, puzzle books, playing the organ and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Lisa Dezinski) Westbrook of Fremont; Doug (Kathy) Westbrook of Fremont; Joni (Mike) Voyles of Fremont; her grandchildren, Jeff (Denise) Westbrook; Missy Ward; Jodi (Lloyd) Hood; Cari (Patrick) Coffey; Ashley Westbrook; Jerry Westbrook Jr.; Camaron Voyles; Alicia Voyles; Brooklynn Voyles; great grandchildren, Erik, Dylan, Mercedes, Hunter, Tatum, Keaton, Lillian; her brother, Douglas Derks of Fremont; several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Corniel Derks. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 12, 2006 from the Crandell Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Larry Wood presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may consider the Fremont United Methodist Church Missions for memorial contributions in memory of June.
