Karen Everett, age 80 of Huntingtown, Maryland formerly of Fremont passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at her home with her family. Karen was born on November 24, 1932 in Lansing, Michigan to Peter Sogren Rasmussen and Martha Chappell and later married Lawrence Larry H. Everett on September 21, 1957 in Lansing. Larry preceded her in death on January 20, 1994. Karen had worked at Gerber Products Company as an Export Clerk for 13 years before retiring in 1989 and is currently a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church. Karen was the loving mother of Kristine Everett of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brenda (Mark) Pawlowski of Huntingtown, Maryland; David (Michelle) Everett of Royal Oak, Michigan; and the loving grandmother of six grandchildren Daniel Greer; Jennifer, Timothy and Andrew Pawlowski; Nathan Everett and Ashley Cattafesta. Karen was also preceded in death by her brother, Nels Richard Dick Rasmussen. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 3:30 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel, with a time for friends to visit with the family from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will take place in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Karen.
