Karen Elizabeth Scheidel, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Holton, Michigan. Born on August 12, 1943, in the serene town of Newaygo, Michigan, Karen led a rich and fulfilling life marked by dedication to her family, community, and passions.

A successful business owner, Karen co-owned an excavation company, where her hard work and determination were admired. Known for her generous heart, Karen was cherished by countless individuals whose lives she touched. She was deeply involved in her community as a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Eastern Stars, her love for dancing, hunting, and her unwavering commitment to never missing a Sunday at church were just some of the many ways she expressed her joy for life. Karen's spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and cherished, as well as within the Holton community she so passionately served.

Karen is survived by her husband of 25 years, Roman A. Scheidel, of Holton, MI, and her loving son, Michael Jager. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Pam Halverson and Barb Ashcroft, alongside many additional cousins, numerous friends and community members who have been enriched by her presence. Karen is preceded in death by Preston Jager, her brother, Ray Ebel, sister, Susan Ebel, and parents, Robert and Avis (Hesse) Ebel .

A visitation to honor Karen will be held at Holton Methodist Church in Holton, MI, on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am at the same location. Karen's legacy of love and kindness will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Karen's memory to Holton Methodist Church, reflecting her enduring faith and commitment to her church community.
