Jackson, Karl W. Karl W. Jackson, age 79 of Holton, passed away Monday, February 16, 2004 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont . He was born on July 2, 1924 in Fremont to Ronald and Rheva (Rhodes) Jackson and married Marjorie Swenson on January 19, 1946 in Kalamazoo , Michigan . Karl has been a resident of the Holton area since 1968 when he moved from California . He had been a teacher in California for 16 years and later at Holton Public Schools until his retirement in 1980. He was a graduate of Fremont High School and received his Bachelor of Education Degree in 1952 from Western Michigan University . Karl was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army Infantry where he served in Scotland , France , Belguim, and Germany . He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie of Holton; his children, Susan (Alan) Redman of Nokomis, Florida; Bonnie (Craig) Rizley of Wayland, Michigan; Sandy (Dennis) Roybal of Rye, Colorado; Dennis (Cindi) Jackson of Rancho CuCamonga, California; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his sister, Lois Ibershoff of Holton; his brother, Charles (Lee) Jackson of Upland, California; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Jackson in 1999. Funeral memorial services were held on Saturday, February 21, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Craig Cramblet of the First Baptist Church of Fremont presiding with military rites under the auspices of the Holton American Legion Cobb, Trygstad, Anderson Post #397 with interment in the Holton Lutheran Cemetery .
