Katherine Marie VanderMey, age 66 of White Cloud, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Katherine was born on August 15, 1942, to Kenneth E. and Verna (Paulsen) Goyings in Fremont and was a graduate of White Cloud High School. Kay married Paul Vandermey from Rockford on September 24, 1960. She had been a business manager/bookkeeper for the White Cloud Public Schools for 26 years before retiring in 2003. She was an active member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church, enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, volunteering, and taking care of her family. She is survived by her husband, Paul of White Cloud; children, Kenneth Vandermey of White Cloud and Tina (Tony) Dekievit of Jenison; 2 grandchildren, Megan and Aaron Dekievit; brother, Jim (Sue) Goyings of White Cloud; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Verna. Visitation was held on Saturday, April 25, from 2 -4 and 6-8 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. Funeral services were at 2 PM Sunday at the White Cloud United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Bowman officiating. Committal and interment was lead by Pastor Jerry Jaquish at White Cloud Cemetery.
