Katie Mae Boltz, age 86, of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Katie was born on October 11, 1924, in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, to Spencer and Bertie (Orsman) Hargrove and married Elmore Frederick Boltz on September, 10, 1940. She had worked at Samuels Fine Food Restaurant in Fremont and Kroger in Fremont and Muskegon for many years and enjoyed music and spending time with her family. Katie is survived by her children, Tom Boltz of Fremont, John (Diana) Boltz of White Cloud, Kay (Kevin) Johnson of Florida, and Fred Boltz of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Norma Boltz of Holton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore in 1994; son, Gary Boltz in 2007; daughter, Carrol in 2005; and great-grandson, Samuel Wisniewski. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011, from 5 -8 p.m. at the Crandell Funeral Home- Fremont Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with interment in the East Hesperia Cemetery.
