Obituary

Kelly William Baker, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly from complications with M.S., on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at the age of 55. Kelly was born on May 22nd, 1971, in Hart, Michigan, to Kenneth and Betty Baker.

Kelly dedicated 33 years of his career to Gerber Products in maintenance, where he was known for his hard work and commitment. His passion for building and creating was not only a profession but a hobby he shared with his friends and family. Kelly had a love for adventure, especially riding his dual-sport motorcycle, a passion that brought joy and excitement to his life. In 1988, Kelly earned his Eagle Scout which was something he was very proud of. Upon retirement, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Kelly is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Michelle (Maurer) Baker, their children, Brooke (Anthony) Baker and Kellen (Helen) Baker, and their adored grandchildren, Edyn, Cody, Remi, Axle, and Keiran. Kelly also leaves behind his sister, Kathleen (Susan) Hallowell, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, Kenneth Baker, his mother, Betty Baker, his mother-in-law, Teri Maurer, and his brother, Thomas Hallowell.
