Kelly David Merryman, age 65 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his home following a short decline in his health. Kelly was born on February 18, 1955 in Grand Rapids to Raymond and Ethel (Udell) Merryman and graduated from Sparta High School in 1973. Kelly then attended auctioneer school where he became an auctioneer. Kelly met and married Tamera VanDeraa on March 28, 1980 in Three Oakes, Michigan and moved to the Fremont area in 2010. Kelly was currently a contract auctioneer since his graduation and worked all over the United States during his career. Kelly enjoyed fishing, golfing, auctioneering and coin collecting. Kelly is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tamera; his children, Cody Merryman of Fremont; Ashley Merryman of Fremont; his brothers and sisters, Paul (Fran) Merryman; Bob Merryman; Chuck Merryman; Scott Merryman; Marlen (Dave) Reynolds; Janice Woolverton; Joni (Jerry) Nelson; Tracy Smith; several nieces and nephews. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date following cremation and interment of the cremated remains will be at a later date at the Algoma Cemetery.
