Kendra Monette Rogers, age 62, Kentucky, formerly of Brunswick, Michigan, passed away on May 12, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky after a brave fight with Ewing's Sarcoma. Kendra was born September 17, 1958 to Lyle C. and Mary (Slater) Monette and was a graduate of Fremont High School, Class of 1976. She worked at Gerber Products Company for 14 years before moving out-of-state with her family. In addition to her husband of 37 years, William R. Rogers, to whom she was married on December 3, 1983, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. (Tim) Snider of New Mexico, her son Ross W. (Kendra) Rogers of Kentucky, a granddaughter – Addison; brother – Lyle G. Monette; four sisters – Pamela (Robert) Lascko, Felicia (Michael) Williams; Denise (Gregg) McDaniel; Janene Chisek. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Diane Patton. She was greatly looking forward to the birth of her second granddaughter in August.
Everyone who met Kendra would immediately notice her smile and you couldn't help but share in her joy. Kendra had a giving heart and selflessly prioritized the happiness of those she loved. She was a lifetime member of Girl Scouts, serving on the Board of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana for 7 years and also chairing the Gold Award Committee. She was a member of Derby City Newcomers & Neighbors and served in multiple leadership roles including president. In her free time Kendra enjoyed traveling and making memories, valuing experiences over things.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Soiree in Crestwood, Kentucky on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. Memorial Mass Services will be held in Michigan on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Brunswick, Michigan with Rosary Services: 9:30am. Visitation: 10:00am - 11:00am. Memorial Mass of Resurrection: 11:00am followed by a private graveside service.
