Obituary

Kenneth Almy Maloney Jr., age 70, of Newaygo passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Ken was born on April 19, 1944, in Presbyterian, Wales to Kenneth A. Maloney and Rita Sadler and was a welding engineer at Benteler Automotive Corporation in Grand Rapids. Ken served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a golden gloves boxer in his younger years. He enjoyed fishing and all types of sports. Ken was a sponsor and speaker for many of the Grand Rapids area Alcoholics Anonymous groups. Ken is survived by his children, Amber (Michael) Wilson of Fremont and Nicholas (Nodoka) Maloney of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Mackenzie Wilson, Connor Wilson, Angelina Maloney, and Leo Maloney; brother, Lynn Rogers of Minnesota; special friends, Mary and Ken Page, Joyce VanBeekom, Jane Black, and Lynn Skrabis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jill Maloney. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with interment in Newaygo Cemetery.
