Kenneth Marvin Burns, age 71 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Ken was born on June 22, 1941 in Manistee County to Bert Edward and Grace Eleanor (Thomas) Burns and later married Clarice Kiekover on March 12, 1966 in Grand Rapids. Ken moved to the White Cloud area in 2006 from Grand Rapids and had been a supervisor with Consumers Power Company for many years until his retirement. Ken was a Golden Gloves State Boxing Champion in his younger years and had been an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ken is survived by his wife, Clarice of White Cloud; his children, Greg (Stephanie) Burns of Grand Rapids; Pam (John) Pierce of Grand Rapids; Kurt (Denise) Burns of Rockford; his grandchildren, Jared and Kenadi; Nicholas and Christian; Kent, Jack and Sophia; his brothers, Norman (Marilyn) Burns of Grand Rapids; Phillip Gordon (Marianne) Burns of Allendale; several nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor and his brothers, Bert, Ronnie, Donald and Duane. Private memorial services will be held at a later date following his wishes for cremation.
