Kenneth Charles Church, age 79 of Brunswick, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 at his home following declining health. Ken was born on December 31, 1939 in Big Rapids to Harold Charles and Marie L. (Gorman) Church and graduated from Holton High School in 1958. Ken married Betty Jean Uganski on September 15, 1962 in Muskegon and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Ken had been a truck driver for TNT Holland for several years until his retirement. Ken was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick and enjoyed camping, harvesting and processing maple syrup from his farm. Ken was active in several antique tractor clubs and enjoyed collecting, restoring and pulling his tractors. Ken was the founder of the West Michigan Memorial Tractor Ride and also enjoyed spending his winters at the Lake Bonnet Village for past 17 years. Ken is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty of Brunswick; his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren – daughter - Joan (Mike) Jahr of Rockford and grandson and great grandchildren – Steve (Cassie) Jahr and their children, Nolan and Lexie; grandson - Brad Jahr; son – Kenneth A. Church of Brunswick; daughter – Mary (Jeff) Schrier of Saginaw and grandchildren – Julianna, Ben and Peter Schrier; daughter – Sharon (Tony) Maniscalco of Wyoming; sisters, Ann (Keith) Carpenter of Grand Rapids; Linda Maitland of Holton; Ruth Monette of Muskegon; Janet Burdette of Montague; sister-in-law, Kathy Church of Grand Rapids; sisters and brother-in-laws, Elsie Westenfelder of Twin Lake; Frank (Elsie) Uganski of Whitehall; Tom (Janice) Uganski of Newaygo; several nieces and nephews and cousins. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas Church.
