Kenneth E. Goyings, age 92 of White Cloud, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in the same home he was born. Ken was born on February 6, 1916 to Ford and Eva (Patterson) Goyings at the family home in White Cloud and attended and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1934. Ken married Verna Paulsen on October 25, 1941 in White Cloud and Verna preceded him in death on May 15, 1994. Ken has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where he had been a school bus driver for the White Cloud Public Schools for over 30 years until his retirement and had also farmed the Goyings centennial family farm in White Cloud throughout his entire life. He was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church, former member and past master of the Big Prairie Grange, former member and served as the President of the Board of Directors of the White Cloud Co-Op, and enjoyed fishing in his youth and hunting on his property through the years. He is survived by his children, Katherine (Paul) Vandermey of White Cloud; Jim (Sue) Goyings of White Cloud; his grandchildren, Kenneth Vandermey of White Cloud; Tina (Tony) Dekivit of Jenison; Melinda (Ed) Shepard of White Cloud; Jeff (Stacy) Goyings of White Cloud; his great grandchildren, Megan and Aaron Dekivit; James, Jennifer, Janessa Shepard; Jeffrey Goyings Jr.; his sister, Barbara Thatcher of White Cloud. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Goyings. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Pastor Jeff Bowman of the White Cloud United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery.
