Kenneth D. Horning, age 69 of White Cloud, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his home following a lingering illness. Kenneth was born on January 21, 1944 in Highland Park, Michigan to Delos and Marguerite (Rivers) Horning and later married Christena Meister on November 19, 1982 in Grand Rapids. Ken had been a meat cutter for many years and retired from Devries Meats in Coopersville. Ken moved to the White Cloud area in 1998 and enjoyed fishing, playing poker and Texas hold-em, eating out at fish frys, and playing his Xbox. Ken was a member of the White Cloud Eagles, Aerie Post #4170. Ken is survived by his wife of 31 years, Christena of White Cloud; his children, Douglas Horning of Cadillac; Michael (Melissa Mayer) Horning of Phoenix, Arizona; David (Anne-Terese) Horning of Centreville, Virginia; Kandice (Henry) Arizola of White Cloud; Traci (Michael) Timmer Jr. of Hopkins; 12 grandchildren, Hillary, Hannah, Alexander, Audrey, Anson; Lauren, Jane, Kristen, Brooke, Sydni, Eva, Bracyn; 2 great grandchildren, Gabriel and Korbyn; 2 nieces, Teeya Horning and Tara Horton; his sister-in-law, Dawna Horning. Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Gale Horning. MEMORIAL SERVICES and time of sharing with memorial luncheon will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 2-5pm at the White Cloud Eagles following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Kenneth D. Horning Family to assist with expenses in memory of Ken.
