Kimberly Ann Smith passed away September 27, 2026. She was born August 9, 1964, in Muskegon, the daughter of Clyde and Marlene (Elmer) Davis.

Kim was a feisty woman with a sense of humor that kept you on your toes. She was a no-nonsense person who often saw things as black and white and was never afraid to speak her mind. She could have a hard exterior, but when it came to her children, she had a heart as big as Texas.

Kim was a stay-at-home mother until 1998, when she began her career at GE. She took great pride in her work and remained there until her retirement in 2024. While her career was an important part of her life, her greatest devotion was to her children. She worked hard to give them opportunities, experiences, and the best life she could provide.

She also had a way of showing her love through food. Her cooking was a part of her family’s life and a reflection of the care she put into everything she did. Her lasagna, banana bread, and cabbage rolls are just a few of the dishes her family will miss, along with the love that came with them.

Kim enjoyed crafting and being creative. She designed cups, made quilts and shirts, and took on plenty of other projects over the years. She even knitted pink sweaters for her Dobermans one year. Kim always had a dog, and they were an important part of her life. As her children grew and her nest emptied, her dogs became her companions and, in her words, her “pseudo children.”

She was willing to sacrifice her own comfort to make sure the people around her were taken care of and had a reason to smile. She was a fighter and a strong woman who did not back down when faced with an obstacle, especially when it came to her children.

Kim will be remembered for her strong personality, sense of humor, creativity, cooking, love of animals, and most of all, the way she cared for her family.

Kim is survived by her children: Len (Amber) Smith, Jacob Smith, Dylan Smith, Bryce (Chelsea) Smith, Jake Smith, and JoAnna Smith; grandchildren, Laynce, Madisyn, Brayson, Lainey, Lorelei, and Leighton; siblings, Tim (Stormy) Davis, Rita (Tim) Moon and Renee Middlestadt.

Kim was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Len Smith Sr; and by her daughter, Olivia Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Crandell Funeral Home- Fremont Chapel, 7193 W 48th St, Fremont, MI 49412, the family will hold a private interment after services and will join friends and family for a luncheon following at the American Legion Post #411, 4075 S 198th Ave, Hesperia, MI 49421.
