Lanny J. Viilo, age 68 of Twin Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Mercy Health Partner – Mercy Campus in Muskegon following hip surgery. Lanny was born on April 6, 1951 in Marquette, Michigan to Wilford and Adele Leone (Hanes) Viilo and later graduated from Ravenna High School. Lanny had been a carpenter for David C. Bos Homes in Spring Lake where he worked on all aspects of the construction and building of homes. Lanny had attended the Oakcrest Church of God in Muskegon and enjoyed shooting and target practicing, reloading, tinkering at home and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Lanny also enjoyed his dogs. Lanny is survived by his wife, Cathy of Twin Lake; his children, Sonya Viilo and Lonny Villo; his mother, Adele Hansen of Newaygo; his brothers and sisters, Kevin (Racquel) Viilo; Robert Viilo; Lori Viilo; Lynne (Rev. Abraham) VanSligtenhorst; a special nephew, Chris VanSligtenhorst.
