Simpson, Laron C. Laron C. Simpson, age 61 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, following injuries received in a construction accident. Laron was born on May 17, 1943 in White Cloud to Hugo and Pearle (Ordish) Simpson and later married Diana (Kondrat) Krizov on May 28, 1982 in White Cloud. Laron graduated from Ferris State University with a Masters Degree in Engineering and had worked for Michigan Department of Transportation for 33 years until his retirement in 1997. After retirement from M.D.O.T. he continued as a consultant and was currently working for Moore and Bruggink Construction in Grand Rapids and enjoyed working in commercial road construction. He enjoyed camping, hunting, spending time with his children and grandchildren; visiting with his many friends on the front porch and was known in the neighborhood as Mr. Handy Man; watching old movies and working on the computer. He was and Eagle Scout and had served as Scout Master in White Cloud for several years. He was a veteran of Vietnam Era where he served in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Diana; his children, Scott (Tanya) Simpson of Pullman, MI; Rich Krizov of White Cloud; Doug (Kelly) Simpson of Allendale; Tim Krizov of White Cloud and special friend, Laura Bower of Portland, MI; Denise Krizov of White Cloud; his grandchildren, Brent and Trevor Radny; Joseph and Stephanie Krizov; Nicholas, Nolan, Noelle, and Nicolette Simpson; Heather Krizov; his brother-in-law, Kenneth (Cathy) Kondrat of Lapeer; niece, Krista Kondrat and nephew, Kevin Kondrat; special family friend, Jake Ashker of White Cloud. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at the White Cloud United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Bowman and Rev. Father Tony Russo presiding with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery.
