Obituary

Larry Lee Smith Jr., age 34 of Holton, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. Larry Lee was born on June 12, 1969 in Fremont to Larry Smith Sr. and Terese Jackson and has been a lifelong resident of the Holton area. He graduated from Holton High School in 1987 and then joined the United States Armed Forces serving during the Gulf War. He had worked for General Wine and Liquor Beverage Distributor in Wyoming. He married Gina Rae Mink on July 26, 2003 in Holton and was a member of the Holton American Legion, Cobb Trygstad Anderson Post #397 and attended the Holton United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Gina Rae of Holton; his children, Cassandra Lee Smith of Fremont; Brittney Marie Smith of Muskegon; Amanda Jo Smith of Muskegon; Robert Allen Smith of Holton; Desiree Ann Marie Smith of Holton; his mother, Terese D. (Neil) Moore of Grant; his father, Larry Lee (Theresa) Smith Sr. of Fremont; maternal grandmother, Arlene Jackson of North Muskegon; maternal grandmother, Anna Jackson of Twin Lake; paternal grandmother, Edith Smith of Holton; grandparents, Keith (Mary) Moore of Grant; grandparents, Don (Jane) Reagan; mother & father-in-law, Ralph & Judy) Mink of Hesperia; sisters, Stefanie (David) Mescall of Whitehall; Mandi (Anthony) Craig of Seattle, Washington; Rebecca (Eric) Kelly of Webberville, Michigan; Brothers, Geoffrey Erickson of Detroit; Rodrick (Dabney) Erickson of Virginia; 2 special niecs, Gabrealle and Isabella Mescall; several other nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Deanna (Joel) Bulson of Hesperia; Tina (John) Riggs of Ravenna; Derk (Kassie) Mink of Manistee; Don Durham of Holton. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Frank H. Smith and David R. Jackson. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 21, 2004 from the Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Cramblet of the First Baptist Church of Fremont presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
