Laura Kay Hall, age 55 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids after a brave 4 year battle with cancer. Laura was born on November 16, 1961 in Grand Rapids to Alfred and Joyce (Schmidt) Smith. Laura married David Hall on May 11, 2002 in Grand Rapids and moved to the White Cloud area in 2005 from Grand Rapids. Laura had been a nurse's aid at Holland Home in Grand Rapids and later at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont until her retirement. Laura was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints – Fremont Branch. She enjoyed all animals and wildlife, the Michigan outdoors, horseback riding, painting nature scenes, writing poetry and was a self-taught herbalist.

Laura is survived by her husband, David of White Cloud; her son, Isaiah Matz; stepchildren, Lena (Nick) Sebasta; Laura (Richard) Ferner; Luanne (Gerald) Schoudt; Jared Hall; 10 grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Lonnie (Kathy) Smith; Jeff (Lynn) Smith; Donna (Ben) Kessler; Lisa Smith; Roxanne Smith; Cindy Smith; Lisa (Ed) Dickinson; Terese Smith; Mary Bastinelli; Alfred Smith Jr.; her uncle, Kenny Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Joyce Smith.
