Laurence Arthur Crisler, age 87, of Fremont and White Cloud, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 16, 2025, in his home at Green Acres in Fremont. Larry (his go-by name) was born on February 22, 1938, in White Cloud to Bernard A. and Margaret (Kalfsbeek) Crisler. Larry graduated from White Cloud High School in 1956 with many accomplishments and then immediately went to work at the Newaygo County Road Commission and retired as Shop Superintendent after 37½ years.

Larry loved working in his own garage as a mechanic and was known for helping many people that needed help. He could fix about anything. He had a green thumb and enjoyed working in his garden and grew the best vegetables. He loved plowing people out for free in the winter. He loved raising rabbits too. His favorite sound was to listen to his beagle baying in the woods when he was rabbit hunting. His great escape from it all was when he was hunting and fishing with his son David. Larry loved spending time with his son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren and was a good poppa.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tammy Crisler; and his brothers, Ronald Crisler and Alan Crisler.

Larry is survived by his oldest son, David (Annette) Crisler of Fremont; Phillip Crisler of Grand Rapids; Dan King (Gen) of Phoenix; and Michael (Michelle) Crisler of Missouri. Also surviving are Larry's brother, Keith (Mary) Crisler of Holt, MI; sister-in-law, Arlene Crisler of Fremont, MI; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital may be made in Larry's name.

A memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at Crandell Funeral Homes in White Cloud on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service. Immediately following the service there will be refreshments at the Everett Township Hall at 3:00 pm.
