Lauri Felicia Livermore Phillips Spencer, age 47, of Bitely, formerly of Freeport, went to be with her Lord Friday, June 12, 2009 at her home. Lauri was born October 30, 1961 to Michael and Karen (Thompson) Livermore. Lauri graduated from Lakewood Public Schools in 1979 and later attended Calvin College. Lauri was an animal lover. She had numerous pets during her life and especially enjoyed her horses. She had a wonderful sense of humor and never failed to make people laugh. Lauri also enjoyed woodcarving. She was quite talented and had several pieces of her art displayed in her yard. She was also an advocate for the homeless. She spent countless hours creating quilts from old jeans which she always donated to the homeless. Lauri is survived by her husband, William Spencer Jr. of Bitely; her sons, Zachary Livermore (Shanda) of Lake Odessa, Michigan and Quentin Phillips, currently stationed with the United States Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; a grandson, Mason Livermore of Lake Odessa, Michigan, her parents, Michael and Karen Livermore of Deming, New Mexico; her brother, Todd Livermore (Maria) of El Paso, Texas; her sister, Amy (Rich) Livermore-Fetterhoff of Homer, Alaska, her grandparents, Helen Robinson of Hastings, Michigan; Donald & Leona Thompson of Hastings, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lauri was married to Mark Phillips who preceded her in death and also by her grandfather, Raymond Walter Livermore and step grandfather, Otis J. Robinson. Private graveside services were held at the Riverside Cemetery in Lake Odessa, Michigan following her wishes of cremation. Friends may consider the American Red Cross or the Organ Transplant, Gift of Life at the University of Michigan.
