Laury Lynn Topping, age 62 of Bitely, formerly of Rockford, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at her home following a long decline in her health.  Laury was born on November 16, 1961 in Buchanan, Michigan to Robert and Iva (Medkiff) Bodtke and later met and married Michael Topping on September 19, 1981 in Lowell.  Laury had worked at Wolverine Worldwide in Rockford for several years until her retirement.  Laury had been traveling to the Bitely area for over 20 years and moved there on a permanent basis in 2010 from Rockford. Laury enjoyed crafting, gardening, deer hunting in her younger years, spending time at the beaches and warm weather.  Laury especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and following their activities in school and sports.

Laury is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael; her children and grandchildren – Daniel (Amy) Topping and their children, Harper and Madison; Hollie (Chuck) Keech and their children, Casey and Chailyn; her sisters and brothers, Julie (Greg) Janescheck; Cathy Ciganik; Kathy (Daryl) Onan; Ted (Robin) Smith; Steven Smith; several nieces and nephews.  Laury was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Iva and Robert Smith; her father, Robert Bodtke; her brother, Mike Smith.
