Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" O'Grady, 84, of Fremont, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026, following complications related to mesothelioma.

Born on June 18, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Larry lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to his family, and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He spent many years as a dedicated sheet metal worker, a career he genuinely enjoyed. After retiring more than 25 years ago, Larry embraced the lifestyle he had worked so hard to earn.

Larry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sandra, who preceded him in death in 2018. Their years together were the foundation of a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories. He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

He is lovingly survived by his sons, Robert O'Grady and his longtime partner, Debra DeJong, and Michael O'Grady and his wife, Michelle. Larry was a proud grandfather to Kimberly Cook, Dirk O'Grady, Jacob O'Grady, Nicholas O'Grady, Brittany O'Grady, and Ryan O'Grady. His family brought him immense pride and was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Larry spent his summers at his home on Martin Lake, where he was happiest tinkering in his pole barn, always finding another project to work on. He also enjoyed taking family and friends for pontoon rides around the lake, creating countless memories on the water. During the winter months, he made his home in Pharr, Texas, where he treasured spending time with friends, looked forward to trips into Mexico, and enjoyed relaxing with a good margarita.

In accordance with Larry's wishes, he will be cremated, and no visitation or funeral service will be held.

The family finds comfort in knowing Larry is once again reunited with Sandra, the love of his life. His legacy lives on through his family, his friendships, and the many wonderful memories he leaves behind.
