Lee Ann Halbower, age 61 of the Muskegon/Holton area passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Lee Ann was born on August 1, 1956 in Fremont to William and Marion Elisabeth "Liz" (Syers) Halbower and graduated from Orchard View High School – Class of 1974. Lee Ann had worked for the State of Michigan Department of Corrections and Mental Health for 30 years until her retirement. Lee Ann enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds and her greatest joys, Lucy and Mabel. Lee Ann is survived by her sister, Lisa (Stan) Bush of Montague; William (Nancy) Halbower of Holton; nieces and nephews, Billy (Courtney) Halbower; Ben (Leah) Halbower; Elisabeth Janusiewicz; Maren (Mike) Bronkema; her aunts and uncles, Donald (Jean) Syers; Dorothy Halbower; Carl (Florence) Johnson; special friends Claudia and Jerry Selleck and Butch Yager. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Liz Halbower; her sister, Karlyn Kay Halbower in 1951; her aunts and uncles, Robert Syers; Junior Syers; Jimmie Syers; Mary Syers; Patty Pyatt; Catherine Gotts; Byron Halbower; Norman Halbower. Following Lee Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place and private memorial services will be held later in the summer of 2018 with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
