Lela Mae Moore, age 95 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. She was born on December 2, 1908 in Carthage, Mississippi to Marcellus and Almeddie (Cobb) Gilmore and married Edmond Moore on February 25, 1927 in Mississippi. Edmond preceded her in death on August 18, 1984. She has been a resident of the White Cloud area since 1934 when she moved from Detroit and had worked at Doehler-Jarvis in Grand Rapids until her retirement in 1961. She had served as a foster grandmother for 5 years and was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Grand Rapids. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ruth Young of Detroit; Maggie Trice of Anderson, Indiana; her brother, Howard (Barbara) Gilmore of Detroit; loving nephew and niece, Samuel and Donna Trice of White Cloud. She was preceded in death by 2 sons and her husband. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 1:00pm from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Pastor Allen Julien of the Apostolic Faith Church of Grand Rapids presiding with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery.
