Lelia Mae Davis was born April 24, 1926, in Ararat, Alabama to James and Alice Davis, who have both gone to be with the Lord. Lelia was introduced to Jesus and at an early age she accepted the Lord as her Savior at the Engine Street Holiness Church in Mobile, Alabama. Lelia attended Mobile County Training School until the 12th grade. Some years later, she was united with the Churches of God in Christ in Chicago, Illinois. She served with the late A. A. Allen in the Move of God Ministries. In 1994, Lelia moved to Big Rapids, Michigan to be closer to her family. She attended the White Cloud Church of God in Christ under the Pastorate of Robert E. Smith. She is also an honorary member of the Glory of the Latter House Ministries under the Pastorate of Jeffrey Murchison. At the age of 69, Lelia returned to school and received her high school diploma. She graduated at the top of her class giving the commencement address as Valedictorian. She then attended Ferris State University where she could be seen around campus until her health declined. Lelia will be remembered for her humor, love for books and learning.
