Lenox "Al" Elwyn Witte, age 91, of Croton passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at his home. Al was born on October 28, 1929, in Petoskey to Leslie and Lillian Witte and later married Mary Russell in Boyne City. Al and Mary shared over fifty years of marriage, traveling and enjoying life. Al owned and operated Grand Rapids Industrial Painting for many years and proudly served as an airman in United States Navy during the Korean War. Al was a pilot and enjoyed flying in his younger years and owned several small planes throughout his life. He loved sailing, the outdoors, and watching deer outside his window. Al is survived by his son, Thomas Allen Witte; one grandchild, Morgan Witte; and his brother, Chuck Witte of Boyne City. He was preceded by his wife, Mary; son, Brian Carl Witte; and brothers, Randall and Bill Witte. Private interment services will be held in Charlevoix at a later time.
