Lenus Melvin Kuhns, age 91 of White Cloud, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at his home.  Lenus was born on February 20, 1933 in Nappanee, Indiana and moved to White Cloud at the age of 2 years old.  Lenus graduated from White Cloud High School in 1953 and joined the United States Army until his honorable discharge.  He returned to White Cloud and married Ada McCumber on December 29, 1956 in White Cloud.  Lenus had worked at Gerber Products Company in Fremont in the cold storage department for several years and then founded with his brother, Kuhns Bros Well Drilling in White Cloud which he owned and operated for many years until his retirement.  Lenus was a member of the White Cloud Mennonite Church and enjoyed coon hunting, trapping, turkey hunting, deer hunting, playing cards and was a "professional visitor".

Lenus is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ada of White Cloud; his children, Richard Kuhns of Big Rapids; Mark (Julia) Kuhns of Stone Lake, Wisconsin; Lynn (Theresa) Kuhns of White Cloud; Wendy (Scott) Kryszynski of Fremont; Edwin (Michelle) Kuhns of White Cloud; Jason (Shari) Kuhns of White Cloud; Amanda (Joshua) Bushen of Hesperia 35 grandchildren with 1 more due in December; 12 great grandchildren; his sisters, Barbara Holleman of Nashville, Tennessee; Betty Burkholder of White Cloud; sister-in-law's, Barbara Kuhns of White Cloud; Christina Kuhns of White Cloud; Ruby Kuhns of Newaygo; Judy Klammer;  brother-in-law, Alva McCumber; many nieces and nephews.  Lenus was preceded in death by his sisters -  Ruth Kuhns, Susan Fredenburg, Clara Fredenburg; his brothers -, Ira Kuhns, Martin Kuhns, Edwin Kuhns, Rev. David Kuhns, Jonas Kuhns, Eli Kuhns, and William Kuhns.

VISITATION : Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 5-7pm at the White Cloud Mennonite Church  810 S. Walnut White Cloud MI 49349 and Monday, July 8, 2024 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.   FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Cloud Mennonite Church.   INTERMENT : Amish Cemetery in White Cloud.
