Leonard F. Colwell, age 81 of Holton, passed away, Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Hackley Hospital in Muskegon following a short illness. He was born on June 27, 1922 in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan to Geoge F. and Agnes (Voight) Colwell and married Alberta J. Stringer on October 7, 1946 in Muskegon . Alberta preceded him in death on January 15, 2001 . Leonard had been a production worker at the Lakey Foundry and enjoyed farming his own land. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army. He is survived by his children, David (Gloria) Colwell of Rothbury; Sharon (William) Sanders of Muskegon; Michael (Cindy) Colwell of Brunswick; Patrick (Noreen) Colwell of Holton; Jeannette Vermilyea and special friend, Jack of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Dawn Colwell of Holton; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta on January 15, 2001 and a son, Danny Colwell. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 from the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton with military rites given by the Holton American Legion, Cobb Trygstad Anderson Post #397.
