Leonard B. Kruszynski, age 89 of Holton, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at his home. Leonard was born on November 9, 1926, in Holton Township to Bernard and Josephine (Truschke) Kruszynski and has been a longtime resident of the Holton area. Leonard started working at Bennett Pump in Muskegon at the age of 20 until his retirement as a tool and die cutter after 37 years in 1982. After retirement, Leonard moved to Bois Blanc Island where he lived for 25 years until he moved back to the area. Leonard had been a hunter and fisherman all his life, enjoyed being a carpenter and mechanic and was well known for being innovative with all things mechanical and who was always up for a new challenge. Leonard is survived by his children, Daniel (Julianne) Kruszynski of Holton; Carolyn (Robert) Pell of Muskegon; Joel (Linda) Kruszynski, Sr. of Whitehall; Susan Kruszynski of Muskegon; Timothy (Lynnette) Kruszynski of Twin Lake; Scott (Wendy) Kruszynski of Fremont; Steven Kruszynski of Holton; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his sister, Louise Judson of Sun City West, Arizona; his former wife, Ann Kruszynski Charlesworth of Holton; sister-in-law, Rosemary Kruszynski of Canadian Lakes; several nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Kruszynski; his longtime partner, Geraldine Burkett; his brothers, Robert Kruszynski and Michael Kruszynski. A celebration of life luncheon will be held on May 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holton American Legion (9150 Holton Road Holton MI 49425) with burial following cremation on Bois Blanc Island. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Holton Friends of the Library in memory of Leonard.
