Leonore A. Norrie Skowronski, age 79 of Newaygo, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2012 at her home. Norrie was born on January 6, 1933 in Grand Rapids to Anthony and Genevieve (Wopowski) Myszak and graduated from Northview High School. Norrie married Richard Skowronski on May 16, 1953 at the St. James Catholic Church in Grand Rapids and had worked in the food service department of the Northview High School for many years until her retirement in 1987. Norrie had enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, playing cards, cooking and hosting family gatherings at her home, and was a former member of the Newaygo County Sportmans Club. Norrie and Rich had enjoyed traveling soon after their retirement and Norrie was an avid Detriot Lions fan. Norrie was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud where she had been a Eucharistic Minister for many years. SURVIVORS : her husband, Richard Skowronski; her children, Steven Skowronski of Sparta; John (Amy) Skowronski of Grand Rapids; Mary Beth (Jerry) Berndt of Dorr; 7 grandchildren; her brother, Eugene (Terry) Myszak of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law, Henry Glass of Rockford. Norrie was preceded in death by her son, Thomas R. Skowronski on December 26, 2011; her grandson, Nicholas A. Skowronski on December 27, 1996; her daughter-in-law, Emily Jean Skowronski on August 30, 2002; her sister-in-law, Rosemarie Glass VISITATION : Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 5-8pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with SCRIPTURE SERVICES at 7:30pm. MASS OF RESURRECTION : Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. INTERMENT: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Grand Rapids. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: St. Joseph Catholic Church Food Pantry or Hospice of Michigan Newaygo County.
