Leslie A. McLain, age 78, of Fremont passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Mercy General Health Partners Mercy Campus in Muskegon. Leslie was born November 14, 1934 in White Cloud to Theodore E. and Edna (Doering) McLain and married Jacqulyn Knoll on June 30, 1962 in Fremont at the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Leslie was a Foreman at the Newaygo County Road Commission for over 36 years prior to his retirement and was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fremont. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true love was spending time with his grandchildren. Leslie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jacqulyn of Fremont; children, Glenn (Tina) McLain of Fremont and Kathryn McLain of Norton Shores; grandchildren, Gavin Cobb, Kylie Cobb, and Logan McLain; sister-in-law, Judie (Tom) Mackey of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Gerald (Mary) Knoll of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. Leslie was preceded by his sister Bernice Kalsbeck. According to Leslies wishes, there will be no services. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
