Lewis Edward "Louie" Springer, age 78 of Twin Lake, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont following a decline in his health over the past year. Louie was born on May 16, 1943 in Muskegon to Lewis and Marie (Baars) Springer and graduated from Reeths Puffer High School in 1962. Louie started working with his father in carpentry and then began a career as a machinist at Sealed Power Corporation in Muskegon until his retirement after 42 years. Louie met and married Roberta "Bobbie" Burnham on December 10, 1994 in Twin Lake and they have been long time residents of the Twin Lake area. Louie was a long term member of the Twin Lake Gun Club where he earned many trophies for shooting. He was an avid hunter and outdoor lover and enjoyed spending time in the Upper Peninsula and truly enjoyed traveling with his wife and grandchildren. He was proud of his 7 ½ years of total sobriety and was a member of the Blue Lake Community Church. Louie is survived by his wife of 26 years, Roberta "Bobbie" Springer of Twin Lake; his children, Tyrone (Kristie) Springer of Twin Lake; Wendy Vandenberg of North Muskegon; Gordon (Tammie) Burnham of North Muskegon; Dan (Mary) Burnham of Kentwood; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters, Eloda Moran of Twin Lake; Leona Moore of Twin Lake; his brother, Thomas (Carol) Springer of Twin Lake; many nieces and nephews. Louie was preceded in death by his sisters and brother, Beverly Cline, whom he donated a kidney to and giving her 40 plus years of life; Lois Cooper and Walter Springer.
