Lila M. Ramey, age 92 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Lila was born on June 14, 1923 in Fremont to C.L. and Mary (Jones) Britton and later married C.E. Al Ramey on February 20, 1943 in Fremont. Al preceded her in death on their 66 wedding anniversary on February 20, 2009. Lila has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she had graduated from Fremont High School and had been a bus driver for the Fremont Public Schools for many years where she was the exclusive driver for the Fremont Cross Country Team for many years. Lila had also been a farmer with her husband, Al, enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling and fishing with her sister, Nelda. Lila also loved to sing and sang in the Newaygo County Community Choir for several years. Lila also attended the Hesperia United Methodist Church. Lila is survived by her daughter, Marie Ramey of Fremont; her grandchildren, Jason Mastenbrook of Fremont; Krystal Mastenbrook of Grand Rapids; her great granddaughter, Gwendolyn Robbins of Schoolcraft; several nieces and nephews. Lila was preceded in death by her sister, Nelda Powers and her brother, E.N. Britton. VISITATION : Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 12:30 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel (7193 W 48th Street Fremont Michigan 49412) with FUNERAL SERVICES at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel.
