Lillian M. Johnson, age 94 of Fremont, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her home. Lillian was born on August 14, 1924 in Montana to Richard T. and Myrtle (Massangale) Evans and graduated from Fremont High School in 1943. Lillian met and married Gunnard Johnson on February 19, 1949 in Fremont and Gunnard preceded her in death on August 5, 1997. Lillian had worked at the Gerber Products Company in the office in her younger years and then worked on the family dairy farm for the rest of her life. Lillian was a member of the Fremont Wesleyan Church in Fremont and had been active in MSU Extension in Newaygo County and Newaygo County 4-H. Lillian enjoyed being a Red Hat member, enjoyed bowling in Fremont and square dancing. Lillian was a hard working farm wife, cooking and milking the cows and gardening and her flowers in her spare time. Lillian is survived by her children, Randy (Ginny) Johnson of Fremont; Sandy Cole of Fremont; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Missy (David) Root – Jordan and Journey of Allegan; Kristi (Darin) Howie – Cord, Kryst, Kenzlee, Kolt, Kash, Kreed of Rapid City, South Dakota; Andy (Brooke) Johnson – Avery and Easton of Saginaw; Liz (Scott) Knap – Paisley of Buffalo, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews.
