Linda Mae Topping, age 83 of Bitely, formerly of the Grand Rapids and Reed City area, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at her home. Linda was born on August 16, 1938 in Grand Rapids to Sidney and Martha (Wierenga) Sytsma and later met and married Raymond Clyde Topping. Linda and Raymond had celebrated 62 years of marriage until Raymond passed away on March 3, 2018. Linda had owned and operated a golf driving range in Grand Rapids for several years, then worked as a production worker at Heckman Furniture Company in Grand Rapids and later retired from Amway Corporation where she had worked as a clerk in the catalog department and retail store. Linda and Raymond enjoyed traveling all over the United States in the RV and enjoyed gaming with her sisters. Linda had made crochet blankets for all her family and was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Linda is survived by her son, Michael (Laury) Topping of Bitely; her daughter, Tammy Sullivan of Caledonia; her grandchildren and great grandchildren – grandson, Daniel Topping; granddaughter, Hollie (Chuck) Keech and their children, Casey and Chailynn; grandson, Justin (Holly) Phillips and their children, Myla and Sloan; granddaughter, Megan (Bryan) Leroux and their children, Savannah, and Makayla; her grand dog, Rusty; sister-in-laws, Nancy Batdorff, Janice Topping, Loretta Topping; step sister, Donna;. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on March 6, 2018; her son, Raymond John Topping on October 23, 2011; her son-in-law, Randy Sullivan; and 3 brothers. Private family services will be held at a later date at the family home following Linda's request for cremation.
