Lionel M. Nadjkovic, age 71 of Hesperia, passed away Friday, February 23, 2001 at his home following a long battle with cancer. He was born on February 9, 1930 in Detroit to Steve and Ruth (Campbell) and married Beverly Ormerod on October 7, 1955 in Sandusky, Michigan. He had been a inspector for several years at Mueller Brass Company in Port Huron until 1968 when he moved to the Hesperia area where he operated the Mobil Gas Station and owned and operated Hesperia Tire until his retirement. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he was an explosive and sheet metal expert. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Hesperia; his children, Steve (Cindy) Nadjkovic; Debra (Kyle) Kass; Michael Nadjkovic ; Barbara Nadjkovic; Nancy Nadjkovic Gleason; Timothy (Ruth) Nadjkovic all of which reside in Hesperia ; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a special nephew, Lonny Jones of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Britt. Funeral memorial services were held in the spring at the Croswell Cemetery in Croswell, Michigan following cremation. Friends may consider the Hackley Cancer Center at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon or Muskegon/Oceana County Hospice for memorial contributions.
