Westgate, Lloyd A. Lloyd A. Westgate, age 93 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Lloyd was born on July 27, 1912 to George Leonard and Viola Maude (Pettyjohn) Westgate in Fremont. He attended and graduated from Fremont High School and married Marian Walker on June 9, 1935. Lloyd and Marian later moved to Syracuse, New York and later back to Muskegon. Lloyd owned and operated a trucking company and worked for S.D. Warren Paper Mill. Lloyd and Marian were also the founding partners of the North Muskegon KOA Campground. Lloyd enjoyed gardening, traveling, his family and had been affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marian of Fremont; his children, Charles(Kathleen) Westgate of Jacksonville, Florida; Nancy Springstead of Fremont; Jim (Bette) Westgate of Fremont; his grandchildren, Debra Brown; Suann Westgate; Julie (Steve) Springstead Waltz; Robert (Terri) Springstead; Carol Springstead; Gary (Kathryn) Springstead; Amy Visscher; Sara Westgate; Ben (Linda) Westgate; 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Jeffrey Westgate. Private family graveside services were held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Jewell Cemetery near Fremont with Rev. Larry Wood of the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding. Friends may consider the NCCS Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation for childrens programs at NCCS for memorial contributions in memory of Lloyd.
