Lois L. English, age 82 of Hesperia, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Lois was born on November 29, 1937 in Selma Township, Wexford County to Daniel and Georgia (Royer) Scarbrough and later married Morris William English on November 7, 1959 in Muskegon. William preceded her in death in 1971. Lois has been a longtime resident of the area where she has been a member of the Dayton Center Wesleyan Church in Fremont since she was 21 years old. Lois enjoyed painting and journaling at home, cooking, watching old movies and gameshows, going to yard sales, going for rides in the car and fall color tours. Lois loved her Lord, reading her Bible, loved her church and the church family and spending time with her family. Lois is survived by her children, Debbie (Jody) Dyer of White Cloud; Lois (Kyle) Near of Hesperia; Rosie Anderson of Hesperia; Billie Jo (Billy) Shields of Newaygo; Bill (Cindy) English of Hesperia; 24 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; her sisters and brothers, Helen Abby of Muskegon; Alice Hough of Muskegon; Bob (Donna) Scarbrough of Muskegon; Richard (Ruth) Scarbrough of Fremont; Donna (Bob) Herzhaft of Montague; several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, William; her son, David English and by her brother, Dale. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 4pm at the Dayton Center Wesleyan Church 2192 S. Comstock Ave Fremont MI 49412 and interment in the Clark Cemetery in the summer of 2020. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Dayton Center Wesleyan Church for memorial contributions in memory of Lois.
