Obituary

Our beloved Lois Kay Johnson, a long-time resident of White Cloud, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 10, 1952, in Fremont, Michigan, Lois lived a life full of love, warmth, and dedication to her family, friends, and community.

Lois was a talented upholsterer, known for her skill and attention to detail. Her passion for sewing was evident not only in her work but also in the beautiful material she lovingly crafted for her family and friends. As a small-time farmer, Lois reveled in the simple joys of life, cherishing her animals and tending to her garden with care and affection. Her green thumb could make any garden flourish, and her home was always full of life and color. Lois was a devoted member of White Cloud Mennonite Church for over 30 years, where she was not only a parishioner but also a cornerstone of her community, bringing people together with her kindness and compassion. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she shared her beliefs through her actions and deeds.

She is survived by her loving children, Jeremiah (Debra) Johnson and Jennifer Johnson; her cherished grandchildren, Hosanna (Seth) Lotter, Micaiah (Bethany) Johnson, Jerusha Johnson, Matthias Johnson, Cherith Johnson, Judah Johnson, Tabitha Johnson, Jotham Johnson, and Melita Johnson; and her adored great-grandchildren, Talitha Lotter, Uriah Lotter, Charity Lotter, Gideon Lotter, Knightly Johnson, and Evander Johnson. Lois is also remembered by her dear siblings, Ruth Ann (Ralph) Rattin and Joanne (Ed) Welch. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Susie Fredenburg, and her siblings, Daniel Fredenburg, Martin Fredenburg, and Mary Sims. She is now reunited with them, resting in peace.
