Lon G. Green, age 81 of White Cloud, passed on to be with his Lord on Friday, July 10, 2009 surrounded by his family at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Lon was born on February 12, 1928 in St. Johns, Michigan to Cecil and Helen (Cretty) Green and married Anna Paksi on June 15, 1946 in Ashley, Michigan. Lon had worked at the Sackner Products Company in Grand Rapids until his retirement in 1971. Lon moved to the White Cloud area in 1990 from the Higgins Lake area. He was a member of the Big Prairie Community Church and enjoyed operating his John Deere Tractor. Lon enjoyed cutting wood and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years. Lon was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Air Force. Lon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann of White Cloud; his daughters, Linda Rodriguez of Newaygo; Cathy Minda of Wyoming; Ginny (John) Wheater of Sparta; his grandchildren, Jodie (Tony) Mindal Chris (Tracey) Visser; Jerimy (Rebecca) Wheater; Sara Minda; Adam Wheater; Aaron Wheater; great grandchildren, Jayln; Kyle; Gage; Paige. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and by his grand daughter, Nicole. VISITATION : Monday, July 13, 2009 from 5-8pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : 11am Tuesday at the Big Prairie Community Church. INTERMENT : Blythefield Cemetery near Rockford.
