Lora M. Gallup, age 92, of Fremont and formerly of Jerome, Michigan, went to meet her maker on Friday, August 13, 2010, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Lora was born in Millbury, Ohio, and moved to Michigan in 1948. Lora worked as a cosmetologist and retired from a small factory in Jonesville. She lived in Jerome until 1993 and then moved to the Newaygo County area to be closer to her family. Lora enjoyed traveling, being around her family, and she loved gardening and flowers. Lora had survived through five generations, and is survived by her sons, Gary Sergent of Mississippi and Butch (Ginger) Sergent of Newaygo; sister, Nadine Pinkston of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The Newaygo County Commission On Aging was a large piece of her life and she couldnt wait to get on that bus every Tuesday and Thursday to enjoy the activities, especially bingo. The family would like to add many thanks to the staff at the Newaygo Medical Care facility and Commission On Aging for their care and concern for Lora over the past several years. There will be a Memorial Service for Lora at 2 PM on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Friends may share memories and condolences online at crandellfh.com. Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Lora was a very special lady. I am a volunteer at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility. I sat with her many times during bingo games. She was always happy to win, which she did almost every time. She told me about going to beauty college. She will be missed. Darleen Jones
