Obituary

Loren D. Wolgamott, age 87 of Bitely, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital in Zeeland. Loren was born on June 19, 1934 in Troy Township, Newaygo County to Ervin and Mary Ann (Smith) Wolgamott and graduated from Walkerville High School in 1953. Loren received his Associated Degree in Architectural Design from Ferris State College, later received a Associated Degree from Muskegon Community College in Finance and Tax Preparation, and also received a Associates Degree from Baker College. Loren met and later married Sandra Ash on June 1, 1957 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and has been a lifelong resident of the Bitely area where he was a member of the Amazing Grace Acres Church. Loren had served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1959. Loren had worked in the architectural industry for several years, had been a tax preparer and later retired as a rural mail carrier at the North Muskegon Post Office. Loren was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Hesperia-Arcana Lodge 346 Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending winters in Harlingen, Texas, bonfires with the family but found the most enjoyment spending time with his family and attending his great grandchildren's sports and school activities. Loren is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sandra of Bitely; his children, Lori (Steven) Flatt of Bitely; Lesa Wolgamott of Bitely; Tammy (fiance, Ryan) Wolgamott of Orangeville, Michigan; Toni (Randy) Fulton of Brohman; Kristine Cousineau of Bitely; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; his brothers, Andy Wolgamott of Ravenna; Guy Wolgamott of Walkerville; several nieces and nephews. Loren was preceded in death by his brothers and sistesr, Dale E. Wolgamott Sr.; LD Wolgamott; Labon Wolgamott; George Wolgamott; Bruce Hill; Margaret Wolgamott and Elepha Karn; his granddaughters, Stephanie Flatt and Miranda Vincent. VISITATION : Friday , March 11, 2022 from 5-7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel 7193 W. 48th Street Fremont MI 49412 and Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 12-1pm at the Amazing Grace Acres Church. MASONIC SERVICES : Friday, March 11, 2022 at 6:45pm at the Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES with MILITARY HONORS : Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1pm at the Amazing Grace Acres Church 762 W. Woodland Park Drive Bitely MI 49309 with military honors under the auspices of the United States Army and the Lake County Military Honor Guard.
