Lori Coles, age 50, of Grant, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at her home. Lori was born on June 30, 1961, in Grand Rapids, to Frank and Joan (Van Dyke) Carpenter and married Daniel Coles on October, 20, 1990 in Grand Rapids. Lori was a janitor at the Grant Public Schools, enjoyed scrapbooking and crocheting, coaching AYSO soccer, and time with her family. Lori is survived by her loving husband Dan; children, Michelle (Ryan Erickson) Merchant of Grant, Elizabeth Coles of Grant and Jennifer Coles of Grant; granddaughter, Izabella Erickson; mother, Joan Carpenter; brother and sister, Steven (Beverly) Carpenter of Georgia and Stephanie (John) McKay of Wyoming; grandmother, Dorrie Stocking; step-mother, Karen Carpenter; and mother-in-law, Barbara Seabrook. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Carpenter; grandfathers, Wayne Stocking and Christian Louis; father-in-law, Donald Coles; and uncle, Dennis Van Dyke. According to Loris wishes, cremation has taken place. A time celebrating Lori's life will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Grant High School from 11 AM - 1 PM with a lunch following.
