Lori M. Vargas, age 37 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Hesperia and Elmhurst, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015. Lori was born on January 6, 1978 in Elmhurst, Illinois and graduated from York High School. After graduation, Lori moved to the Hesperia area and where she has been resident for the past 18 years. Lori became a paramedic and was currently working on the flight team with Spectrum Health Aero Med. Lori enjoyed being in the Michigan outdoors fishing and kayaking, photography and especially treasured the time she spent with her daughters. Lori is survived by her daughters, Dana Arnold of Hesperia, Michigan; Katarina Arnold of Hesperia; her life partner, Dan Arnold of Hesperia; her parents, Donna Rutkowski of Elmhurst, Illinois; Larry (Alicia) Vargas of Elmhurst, Illinois; her grandparents, Donald and Phyllis Rutkowski and Elida Vargas; her special aunts that were like sisters, Joann and Jim Roeschlein and Patricia (David) Coleson; her mother and father-in-law, Melody and Erwin Arnold of Hesperia; brother-in-law, Jeffrey and Jennifer Arnold of Hesperia; her nephews, Ashton and Allistir. CANDLELIGHT VIGIL Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 7pm at the Hesperia Football Field and also at York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois at 6pm. Friends are asked to wear purple in honor of Lori. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel (7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412) with VISITATION from 12-2pm at the funeral home.
