Lorine A. Kesteloot, age 81 of Las Cruces, New Mexico and formerly of Fremont, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2001 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. She was born on March 20, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Mathias H. and Pauline (Miller) Risch and married Vernon M. Kesteloot on May 4, 1946 in Chicago. She moved to Arizona in 1977 and to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1982 where she was currently a member of the Catholic Church in Las Cruces and had been a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo and embroidery. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley "Sheryl" Sumpter of Pensacola, Florida; Laurie (Ralph) Edwards of Holton; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, James Risch of Chicago; sister, Dorothy Risch of Chicago; various nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon on July 2, 2000; son, Michael J. Kesteloot on February 19, 1949; grandson, Michael A. Dibble on February 18, 2000; sister Eleanor VanGeertruy in December 1997. Funeral mass services were held on Thursday, October 18, 2001 from the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick with Rev. Father Donn Tufts presiding with interment in the St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery.
