It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louis Elias Bugbee Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Louis peacefully departed this life on Thursday, September 12th, 2024, at 82 years old, surrounded by his family. Born on Saturday, January 3rd, 1942, in Muskegon, Michigan, Louis was the cherished son of the late Louis Elias Bugbee Sr. and Pearl (Nordwall) Bugbee. Louis was a proud graduate of Hesperia High School, class of 1960, and went on to work as a dedicated production worker for the Gerber Products Company for 36 years, retiring in 2006.
Louis is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Sandra Kay Bugbee of Hesperia, MI, with whom he shared many joyous years of marriage. He also leaves behind his beloved daughters: Cheryl (Aron) Billings of Hesperia, Michigan; Linda Bugbee of Phoenix, Arizona; and Jennifer Southwell of Cadillac, Michigan. He is additionally survived by his half-sister Shirley, step-sisters Bonnie Hail, and his sisters Sharon, Carolyn, and Betty. Louis was deeply loved by his grandchildren: Brett (Karen) Billings, Brandon Billings, Tonya, Christina, Lisa, and Rianna; Danielle (Kenny) Deur, Kendra Storms, and McKayla Storms. He was blessed with eight great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Elias Bugbee Sr., mother, Pearl Bugbee, sister Betty Swoveland, and brother Elmer, Jr.
Louis had a passion for decorating his home for Christmas, a hobby that brought light and joy to both his family and his community. He was an avid collector and assembler of model cars, took great pride in his extensive Avon collection, and found peace and enjoyment in fishing.
