Thumser Louis E. Louis E. Thumser, age 77 of Fremont, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2006, at Spectrum Hospital Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Louis was born on February 13, 1929 in White Cloud to Essie and Edna (Cook) Thumser and later married Barbara June Castle on September 2, 1950 in Fremont. Louis had been a lineman for Consumers Power until his retirement in 1988. Louis loved to fish and was an avid shuffle board player. Louis is survived by his wife, Barbara of Fremont; daughters, Marcia Kay Pierce of Fremont and Debra Lou (Gary) Pell of Fremont; son, Gene Butch (Diane) Thumser of Hesperia; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Howard (Judy) Thumser of Alto; sisters, Della Carey of Morley and Viola VanAlstine of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his grandson Brian Louis Pell; brothers, Walter Thumser, Percy Thumser, Lyman Thumser, Edwin Thumser, and Russell Thumser; sisters, Phoebe VanAlstine, Laura Reed, Beatrice Cain, and Mary VanAlstine. Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Pastor Jeff Bowman of the White Cloud United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may consider the Fred & Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids for memorial contributions in memory of Louis.
